Majoring in Painting she completed a BA Degree in Fine Art from the University of Cape Town in 2001. 2003 saw her first solo exhibition ‘Love and Fear’ held at Rust-en-Vrede in Cape Town. In 2004 Louise moved to London and has spent time in Europe, Asia, Central and South America. Now based in London Louise continues to work and exhibit in galleries and public spaces and in 2010 she completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Fine Art at Central Saint Martin’s.

Louise works in a variety of media including sculpture, painting, photography, printmaking and installation. Her work is eclectic and diverse. Naturally interested in social issues she sees art as a platform to challenge and express culture and society and a way of reaching a wider audience.

At present she is working on the idea of identity, authenticity, displacement and dispersement and what this means in a world that has become so connected and yet so disjointed. She is also exploring what her identity as an African really means.
